The Lunar Eclipse in Pisces: A Two-Year Chapter Comes Full Circle

On the evening of August 27, 2026, we get a deep, dramatic lunar eclipse in Pisces, bringing the third and final eclipse in a two-year series that started back in September 2024. In Mountain Time, it unfolds over a few hours: the shadow starts creeping in around 7:24 pm, becomes visible around 8:34 pm, peaks near 10:18 pm (with almost 96% of the Moon covered), and clears out by about 1:02 am.
At its peak, the Moon turns a deep red, it's the eerie looking "blood moon" eclipses are famous for.
Why This One Matters More Than a Regular Full Moon
Eclipses don't act like normal Full Moons. They speed things up. They close things out. They open doors you didn't see coming. Wherever Pisces sits in your own chart, that part of your life has probably been through a lot of change these past two years, and this eclipse is here to show you how far you've actually come.
Pisces is ruled by Jupiter, the planet of big dreams and big feelings. This sign is soft, intuitive, and endlessly creative, but it can also lose itself. Pisces can soak up everyone else's problems, or avoid what's hard by checking out completely. This eclipse is asking you to hold both sides: to stay open, but stay real.
It's also happening near the Moon's North Node, the point tied to hunger, drive, and what we're still growing into. When an eclipse lands near the node, it turns up the volume on our wants. So don't be surprised if you feel a little more restless than usual this week.
What This Means in Your Own Chart
Think about where Pisces falls for you as that's the house this eclipse is lighting up. Then ask yourself:
What's changed there since September 2024? What started, what ended, what suddenly sped up?
Where have you been chasing a dream, and where did you need to get real instead?
What boundaries have you had to draw, or finally hold?
Where has this stretch of time asked more patience and forgiveness from you than you expected?
If you're not sure yet, don't worry as this eclipse will tend to bring the answers up on its own over the next few days.
5 Ways to Take Care of Yourself Right Now
Keep your schedule light. Eclipses are unpredictable, especially during eclipse season (about August 12–27 as this includes our New Moon Solar Eclipse). Leave room for surprises, and hold off on big decisions or new starts until things settle.
Notice when you check out. Watch for the moments you shut down, overdo it, or avoid what's right in front of you, and then find a way to stay both soft and steady.
Make something. Art, music, writing, dancing — anything creative that helps you move through what this eclipse energy stirs up.
Say no more often. To people who drain you, habits that don't help, and the voice in your head that's never satisfied. Then protect what actually fills you up.
Let yourself feel it. Cry if you need to. Journal. Take a walk with no destination. Give your feelings somewhere to go instead of pushing them down.
One Last Thing
Eclipse seasons can feel like a lot as the old stuff comes up, plans shift, and nerves get frayed. That's normal. It just means you're standing at the precipice of something new! Take it slow, feel what you need to feel, and trust that whatever this eclipse is closing is making room for something better.
Here's to an exciting door opening in this Full Moon Lunar Eclipse, and we hope to see you at our Full Moon workshop on August 26th! You can use this link if you haven't already RSVP'd. And make sure to use the daily journal prompts in the Town Square Community for suggestions on how to work with the different energies.
With love and emotion,
